Using the Full Moon Energies to boost your success

Full Moon and business means leveraging the high energy to build momentum, positive cultures and innovative solutions.

There are many practices that people use to create greater clarity and intention in their lives. For me, the full moon is one of those practices.

You've probably heard the folklore—that the full moon affects behavior, emotions, or even emergency room activity. While many of these claims remain debated, cultures throughout history have used the lunar cycle as a natural rhythm for reflection, celebration, and course correction. You don't have to suspend your skepticism. Just be willing to ask, "What if paying attention to these cycles helps me pay better attention to myself?" That question alone can open the door to valuable insight.

Using full moon energy in business planning is a very effective way to see better results at all phases of your planning.

Brainstorming:

For team members: The full moon invites you to step into the conversation. If you've been holding back an idea, waiting for the "right" moment, or questioning whether your perspective matters, this is an excellent time to contribute.

For leaders: The full moon is an ideal time to encourage expansive thinking. Set a lighthearted tone, invite every voice into the conversation, and let ideas build on one another without immediate judgment.

Development Phase:

For team members: The destination is clear. Now it's time to strengthen the path. Look for new ways to collaborate. Is there another group that could accelerate the work? Building out the plan requires collaboration, let everyone's ideas for next steps blend together and see what develops. This is the time to go with the flow, even though you are actively involved in developing the plan. This energy is expansive, there is room in the plan for many ideas.

For leaders: Leaders often see possibilities in others before they see it in themselves. Assign work that encourages growth, create stretch opportunities with appropriate support, and consider emerging talent for leadership roles. People are more open to the possibilities during a full moon so burgeoning talent will take a risk and take a stretch assignment.

Launch Time and Status Checks:

For team members: Bring high energy to the launch meting. This is about creating momentum so adding your positive outlook and support to the launch meeting will help create that momentum. Status calls during a full moon can also be high energy, focus on keeping a positive outlook and suggesting good ideas to keep the project moving.

For leaders: Use this energy to build momentum. The energy surrounding a launch can set the tone for everything that follows. Bring in more optimism, encouragement, and connection. These energies lift everyone's emotional state, which gives you the opportunity to build a positive culture that seeks out solutions.
