The wounded healer has something to say: let's all take a breath and delight in our body's language
The energies of Chiron are what is referred to as the wounded healer. A wounded healer is one who turns their pain into deep and powerful lessons that they can then use to grow stronger. The key is that the wounds of Chiron never truly heal, so it becomes a kind of karmic lesson for humans. The good news is that this energy is also good for teaching, healing, and bridge building.
Chiron has moved into Taurus after spending eight years in Aries. Before looking forward, a good practice is to take time alone and think on your life - review how much you have grown in the past eight years. What lessons have you learned around your own identity and how it is tied to your self-worth? How has your identity changed throughout these eight years?
Once you have done that, use it as a frame for the next phase which focuses on how you define value. As Taurus is an earth sign, the healing energies will turn our focus on how we experience abundance. Where have we been cut off from celebrating our successes and reveling in how good it feels to have overcome a challenge? Our bodies have their own language, and we must listen in order to live a satisfying life. Denial of happiness and delight without a clear purpose can turn our bodies into a prison instead of a pleasure. Being happy is not a weakness, enjoying life’s pleasures is not a risk. Too many of us have been taught that we must be disciplined, that being cautious about our indulgences can result in bad outcomes. Real healing comes from celebrating the joy of a well baked dessert or the feeling of the sun on our skin. When the shame and judgement is removed from enjoying life, our relationship with our bodies can heal. Healed bodies support a stronger whole person, which in turn brings more opportunity for success.
In addition to healing our relationship with our bodies and learning the language that our body speaks, we must learn about how we define security. Feeling safe comes from many different parts of our lives, and being safe enough to take a risk or be vulnerable is the first step to growing. For some people material possessions are the key to feeling safe and for others being surrounded by a strong family or community brings that feeling. Whatever the source, our attention turns toward bringing real safety into our lives through healing what has blocked it from coming.
So, what does this have to do with being successful? Simply put: we invest in what we value. Success comes from wise investments, so Chiron in Taurus has arrived to show us where healing is needed to bring the safety and self-reliance from our investments. Investing time, money, energy, and attention should all provide a good return. When coupled with Jupiter moving into Leo, we have a wonderful opportunity to embrace who we are now and decide what we want to do with that knowledge.
Summary: The energies of the teacher, the wounded healer, and the cosmic bridge builder moving into Taurus gives everyone the chance to heal our relationship with safety, boundaries, and staying resilient. We can leverage this energy to build a stronger portfolio, a new creative career that feeds our hearts and souls, or even a stronger network of people who share our values and bring great opportunities for growth. One final though on this post is: we have some time, Chiron will be in Taurus until 2033.
