Most of us spend a good portion of our lives trying to become “better versions” of ourselves while quietly ignoring who we actually are.

We follow productivity systems created by people who apparently wake up excited at 5am. We try to “stay grounded” while our thoughts are doing Olympic-level gymnastics at 2 in the morning. We wonder why some situations energize us while others make us want to disappear into a blanket fort with snacks and absolutely no notifications.

The truth is, people are built differently.

The elemental energies—Fire, Earth, Air, and Water—have been used for centuries to help explain how we move through life, relationships, communication, stress, motivation, and change. Some of us naturally lead with action. Some with logic. Some with emotion. Some with ideas that arrive at wildly inconvenient times.

None of these energies are wrong. But understanding them can help you stop fighting yourself quite so much.
